Voyage to the country of hate

"Seeing those dead burned bodies, really shocked me up. Later back at our hotel, I fell down and cried, I’d lost something that day and I knew I was never to going to get back."

Stanley Greene feels the images he has made in Iraq show the failure of this war, and towards a subjective and intensely human focus.

His pictures of Fallujah show us the beast in all of us. The images from the body of this work show us, the viewers, the grief and pain, the suffering, horror of war and the waste of war.

Stanley Greene made this journey with Sara Daniel from Le Nouvel Observateur. Commission from the French Ministry for Culture & Communication (National Center for Visual Arts).
